Our 2025 Community Platform: Celebrating Inclusivity and Raising Over £600 for Accessible Dance!
What a night! Our annual Community Platform event was a huge success, bringing together performers and audience members for an unforgettable evening of inclusive dance and celebration. Over 75 people joined us to witness the power of movement and community, and we’re so proud to announce that we raised over £600 to support our accessible dance programs as well as the continued functioning of our organisation.
The stage was buzzing with talent from a wide range of groups, all of whom showcased the incredible joy and passion that dance can bring. We were honored to feature performances from:
Move Momentum’s own GEMS, proving that age is just a number when it comes to movement and expression.
Liberate Dance, an inspiring wheelchair dance company.
Multi Sports Club, a club for individuals aged 16 and over with learning and/or physical disabilities, who showed off their remarkable skill.
Blue Apple Theatre, known for their ambitious performances by learning-disabled performers.
Florian School of Dance, who brought their professional expertise and love for dance to the stage.
“The Move Momentum Community Platform is always a highlight of our year,” said one of our spokespeople. “Witnessing such a diverse array of talent and seeing the joy on the faces of both performers and audience members truly reinforces our mission. We believe dance has the power to transform lives, and this event showcased that beautifully.”
The evening concluded with a raffle, thanks to the amazing generosity of our local community. Prizes ranged from spa days and meal vouchers to hairdressing services and more. All of the money raised will go directly toward helping us continue our work—providing accessible, inclusive, and affordable dance for everyone.
At Move Momentum, we firmly believe that everyone deserves the chance to experience high-quality dance education, regardless of their background or ability. We see firsthand every day how dance improves physical and mental well-being and enriches quality of life.
We owe a huge thank you to our funder, the Helen Robertson Charitable Trust, for their continued support. Their contributions make these vital programs and events possible.
