GEMS in Winchester

GEMS is a friendly and relaxed dance class for over 60s which includes a mixture of seated and standing movements with a focus on everyone going at their own pace and above all, having fun!

GEMS is more than a dance class. It's about being part of a community, building friendships and everyone enjoying themselves. We cover a wide range of styles and facilitate the exploration of creative movement.

There is the option to stay after the class for tea/coffee.

We often showcase our dancers' skills at performances - and everyone's welcome to take part (if they'd like to)! Take a look at some of our recent and upcoming performances and events

Sheltered Housing Classes

Move Momentum is proud to deliver weekly dance classes at three locations, Hyde Lodge, King Harold Court and Normandy Court. This initiative aligns perfectly with the council's Sheltered Housing Service, which champions a safe and secure environment for older adults (65+) to live independently. These sessions have been partially funded through Hampshire County Council's “Live Longer Better” programme, which seeks to boost physical activity across the district, with a particular focus on community engagement. Move Momentum's inclusive and dance programmes directly contribute to this goal, empowering over 65s to stay active, healthy, and connected. Through these classes, Move Momentum actively works to combat inactivity, loneliness, and preventable ill-health, thereby increasing the quality of life and healthy life expectancy for Winchester's older population, enabling them to live more independently for longer.

If you wish to join one of these sessions, please contact us here.
