🎅 Spreading Magic with the Santa Sleigh

On Wednesday, December 17th, our team headed out to Badger Farm to assist the Winchester Round Table with their famous Santa Sleigh!

It was a brilliant evening of spreading Christmas magic and helping with fundraising efforts for the local community. A huge shout-out to our incredible volunteers whose time, energy, and enthusiasm made such a difference. Whether it was shaking buckets or waving to excited families, your dedication helped make the night a success!

🎄 Christmas Parties Galore!

The festivities didn’t stop there! Across all of our classes, students have been celebrating with Christmas parties galore.

From festive themed playlists and holiday props to plenty of treats, our dancers have been marking the end of the year with style. It has been wonderful to see the joy and friendship shared in every session as we wrap up 2025. We look forward to spreading the joy in 2026! Move Momentum Christmas Party!

We will be having a Christmas Party on Saturday 13th December at Unit 12, Winnall Valley Rd, Winchester, SO23 0LD (1:30PM – 4:30PM).

This year, we’re bringing all our groups together for a fantastic celebration! It’s the perfect opportunity to mingle, chat, and celebrate being part of our incredible dance community alongside your friends, family, and supporters. While there’s absolutely no pressure to dance, we’ll have music, great company, and our exciting annual Christmas Raffle with tons of prizes! Plus, you’ll have a chance to give us feedback, check out our merch, and meet the whole Move Momentum team. To get the festivities rolling, Amanda will lead a fun Christmas dance to kick off the afternoon!

This year we ARE ticketing the event for all attendees (including carers) this is to help us manage numbers. Tickets are available for a “Donate What You Can” contribution.

Christmas Bucket Collection on the High Street

Come and join us for a festive bucket collection on Saturday, November 22nd, on Winchester High Street. We have 1-2 hour slots between 9:30am – 12:30pm and 3:15pm – 5:45pm.

Winchester Round Table’s Santa Sleigh

Join the magic with us this Christmas! Each year, we team up with Winchester Round Table’s Santa Sleigh and help lead the sleigh to collect donations. The more volunteers we provide, the bigger the donation we receive!

Inspiration from our supporters

In April 2024, our fantastic Trustee Emily took on the Brighton Marathon, she remembers “ it was so much harder than I ever imagined! I squeezed in training runs early in the morning, on lunch breaks, even while pushing my 2- and 4-year-olds in the buggy! On the day, the heat hit hard at mile 16, but what kept me going was remembering that the pain was temporary, unlike the daily challenges faced by many MM beneficiaries.” She pushed through for an amazing finish, raising an incredible £532 for Move Momentum.

Katie’s Danceathon had everyone moving in March 2024, raising £319, while Lynn’s Pub Bake Sale the same month brought in £78 (and plenty of smiles and happy tummies!).

And just this summer, Amanda, Lynn and Keeleigh joined the Winchester Round Table’s Pedal, Paddle, Pace Challenge, raising a phenomenal £880 in July 2025.

From marathons to music and muffins, every fundraiser makes a difference.

Quick tips for successful fundraising

1. Start with what you love – Whether you’re sporty, creative, or community-minded, your fundraiser should feel fun!

2. Set a clear goal – Tell people what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how much you hope to raise.

3. Make it easy to give – Use online pages like JustGiving, Crowdfunder, or Give as you Live Donate. Don’t forget to enable Gift Aid if you can!

[Gift Aid makes your fundraising go even further!

If your donors are UK taxpayers, they can tick the Gift Aid box when donating. That simple tick means the government adds an extra 25% to their donation — at no extra cost to them. So, for every £10 raised, Move Momentum receives £12.50! It’s a small action that makes a huge difference to the impact of your fundraiser, so ask people to tick the box!]

4. Shout about it – Share updates on social media: photos, milestones, even bloopers. The more you share, the more people engage.

5. Say thank you – After your event, celebrate! Let supporters know how much they helped raise and how it supports Move Momentum’s work.

Join in:

• Community races or marathons; take a leaf out of Emily’s book and sign up for a local run or walking challenge.
• Danceathons: dance for hours, minutes or even days (just like Katie)!
• Sponsored steps, track your daily steps or miles over a month.

Host your own:

• Bake sale or coffee morning; simple, social, and guaranteed to raise smiles (and funds!).
• Quiz or karaoke night, ask for a small entry donation and offer prizes (and be sure to invite us!).
• Office or school challenge: dress-up days, raffles, or team fitness goals.

Go big:

• Adventure challenge: cycle, paddle, skydive, climb or trek for Move Momentum.
• Creative campaign: a community art project, flash mob, or themed fundraiser.

Katie’s Danceathon: she hosted a fun day full of dancing and raised £230 to keep our classes moving.

Winchester Round Table’s Pedal, Paddle, Pace Challenge: our staff and volunteers braved the triathlon and raised £880

John’s Oboe performance: he impressed the rest of the class with his breathtaking skills, earning donations from supporters

Student Jumble Sale: students donated and sold their pre-loved items, raising funds while reducing waste.

Lynn’s Cake Sale: she baked up a storm in her local pub and turned sweet treats into vital support.

Our classes take place weekly during school term time. Classes focus on 1-2 choreographed dances per term covering a range of dance styles including contemporary, musical theatre, ballet, street dance and commercial.
