We have exciting news for the Winchester community! Move Momentum is teaming up with Everyone Active to bring you an amazing opportunity: a free, accessible wheelchair dance workshop at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park!

This is your chance to experience the joy of movement, regardless of your age or ability. If you use a wheelchair (any kind) and are looking for some fun, a new activity, or simply a chance to connect with your community, you won’t want to miss this free workshop where you can experience the world of Liberate Dance!

Dance, Have Fun, and Connect

The one-hour workshop is designed for you to discover the freedom of movement through adaptable dance, inspiring creativity and connection within a supportive, inclusive community.

Our mission is to provide accessible, inclusive and affordable dance education to everyone. We know that dance changes people’s lives because we witness it first-hand every day and it is proven that regular physical activity improves both physical and mental health. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of dance and we strive to make this a reality.

We are thrilled to be running this workshop in partnership with Everyone Active at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park. Everyone Active’s commitment to providing fully accessible facilities and their support in hosting this event are vital to the mission of ensuring that everyone has access to the joy and benefits of movement and dance. It couldn’t be easier! Just make your way to the Winchester Sport & Leisure Park on Saturday, November 22nd, and be ready to dance between 1 PM and 2 PM.

To book on you must first register via our online portal. For details on how to register for our online portal, see our how-to guide. Once registered follow the steps detailed below from within the portal.

Next month marks our annual #MoveMomentumMarch crowdfunding campaign, and we’re excited to share our plans with you. This year, we’re aiming to raise £7,000 to continue supporting our existing classes and launch two exciting new initiatives: classes for people over 50 and classes tailored for individuals with visual impairments. We believe everyone deserves the joy and benefits of dance, and your support will help us make that happen!

To reach our goal, we’ve got a fantastic lineup of events planned, and we’d love for you to be a part of them!

Want to Lend a Hand? We Need You!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us with the following:

• Saturday, March 15th (9:30 am – 5:30 pm): Help us collect donations and hand out flyers at Tesco Winnall.
• Saturday, March 22nd (10:00 am – 4:00 pm): Support our Dance-a-thon by collecting donations and distributing flyers on the High Street.

• 18:30: Doors Open (Please note: entry before 6:30 pm is not possible. If you arrive early, please wait in the hotel bar area.)
• 19:30: 3-Course Meal Served
• 20:00: Presentation – 5 Years of Move Momentum
• 20:30: Live Entertainment from Charlotte Lorenz
• 21:15: Lucky Squares Draw & Fundraising Update
• 21:30: Live Entertainment from Charlotte Lorenz
• 22:15: Music/Disco
• 23:00: Event Finish

Tickets:

• Full Price: £65 per person
• Early Bird Discount: Available for purchases made before the end of February.
• Group Discounts: Available for groups of 3 or more. Be sure to select the correct ticket type to access these discounts!
• Under 18s: Welcome but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (who must also purchase a ticket).
• Important: Tickets cannot be purchased at the door, and entry will be denied without a valid ticket.

All proceeds from this event will directly support Move Momentum’s mission to provide accessible, inclusive, and affordable dance classes for everyone.

Gluten-free and vegan options are available. Please specify your dietary requirements when booking.

Accessibility Information:

We want to ensure everyone can enjoy this event. Please note the following accessibility information:

• Access: Wheelchair/mobility access is available via a ramp and fire exit door at the rear of the hotel.
• Toilets: An accessible toilet is available in the basement level, accessible via a stairlift and elevator. Guests can operate the stairlift themselves or request assistance from staff. The stairlift has a weight limit of 250kg.
• Bar Access: The bar is also accessible via the stairlift. However, the venue has kindly agreed to provide table service to guests to mitigate this.

Carer/Support Staff Tickets:

Carer/support staff tickets are available for £40 per person (maximum 2 per person). Please contact amanda@movemomentum.co.uk for more information and to purchase these tickets.
